Comments

Good quality. Audio is slightly out of sync though...
Audio is not out of sync. Check your CPU usage during playback.

Due to the amount of video information per frame if your CPU is lower than a minimum Athlon 64 you will have audio desync issues.

If you are having issues playing back 480p do not even attempt 720p or 1080p mkv's.
Sorry. Disregard last comment, you are right. It escaped me, I can't believe I missed it, I transcode my previews which resolves the audio sync for me.

For the rest of you download mkvtoolnix and use mkvmerge GUI to resync audio.

1) Add MKV and you will see two tracks,

V_MS/VFW/FOURCC, H264 (ID:1, type= video)
A_AC3 (ID:2, type= audio)

2) Highlight the audio track and select Format specific options. And adjust delay (ms) to resync audio

3) Click on Muxing in file menu, and select 'Add command line options' and make sure to add:

--engage allow_avc_in_vfw_mode

My bad. good catching it.
